Mr. Satnam Singh Chahal, is the President of the North American Punjabi Association, a Non-Profit Organization, established in 2011 (www.thenapa.com) . Besides this, he started publishing a Punjabi Newspaper in 2005 (www.punjabnewsusa.com) and an English newspaper, Punjaboutlook (www.punjaboutlook.com), in 2012.
Mr. Chahal migrated to the United States, along with his family in 1997. After the initial years of struggle, the family found footholds in good jobs and settled down well in their new country. He spent, and still does spend a lot of time helping people through his non – profit.
Mr. Chahal was born and raised in a small family in Village Jallowal, District Kapurthala of Punjab (North India), situated close to the India-Pakistan border. His father, S. Surjan Singh, was an officer in North Eastern Railways Samastipur (Bihar), and his mother, a housewife.
