Asha Bhonsle,the living legend...The most versatile singer and the most recorded artist in music history...a voice we all grew up with...
She has done playback singing for over a thousand Bollywood movies. In addition, she has recorded several private albums and participated in numerous solo concerts in India and abroad
Renowned for her voice range and often credited for her versatility Asha Bhosle's work includes film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis, and Rabindra Sangeets. Apart from Hindi, she has sung in over 20 Indian and foreign languages. The World Records Academy, an international organization which certifies world records, recognised her as the "Most Recorded Artist" in the world, in September 2009. In 2011 she was officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history.] The Government of India honoured her with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
 
So, finally the day did come...of being able to speak with our very dear Asha Bhonsle ji...and how do I address you, I ask, "Asha Tai",comes the reply...the voice still as fresh as ever...What I gather is,Tai means didi in Marathi...and we move ahead with the conversation...
 
Asha Bhonsle, a person with a midas touch...so be it singing,or her restaurant ...she has attained highest success..Asha Tai's restaurant Asha's in the Pyramids in Wafi City, one of Dubai's premier shopping malls,has now been awarded as the best restraunt in Dubai...
So, the convesation revolves around this, around Ashaji's singing career spaning decdes...her memories down the years which she is penning in her autobiography...and yes, Asha Tai will soon be seen in a movie too...

It was wonderful talking to Prateek Chakravorty,Director and Producer of "From Sydney with love",a very sweet Hindi Film...So,Prateek tells us of the movie,how he got into making it....ofcourse,it does'nt come as a surprise as he is the grandson of late Hindi film director Promod Chakraborty...

So the similarity starts from Love in Tokyo to now From Sydney with Love...and we ask Prateek..Why Sydney ?...and out comes the story Prateek is a MBA from a university in Sydney and the name certainly brings back memories of yesteryears too...

And the story is also hearttouching and the movie well, certainly one for the family...It is about  a small town girl in West Bengal, India when she earned a scholarship from the prestigious University of New South Wales in Australia to pursue her Masters degree in Economics with inevitable butterflies in her stomach. Golconda Fort is one of the most wonderful monuments, located 11 km. from Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The name of Golconda originates from the telgu words "Golla" and "Konda" which means 'shepard's hill'. One of the most important features of this fort is that the sounds of hands clapped at the entry gate can be heard quite clearly at the top of the hill...
The 13th century Golconda Fort was built by the Kakatiya kings. The existing structure was later built by Qutub Shahi Kings into a massive fort with granite walls having eight gates and 87 bastions spread upto 7 kms, in circumference over a span of 62 years...

Chitra Singh is a renowned Indian Ghazal singer.She was married to Jagjit Singh, a prominent Ghazal singer who died on October 10 2011. They formed a highly popular duet team and are considered pioneers of modern Ghazal singing.

 

Some of her memorable songs include "Yeh Tera Ghar, Yeh Mera Ghar", "Tum Aao To Sahi", "Woh Nahin Milta Mujhe", "Saare Badan Ka Khoon", and "Mitti Da Bawa". 
On the show, Chitra Singh ji talks about her late husband, the legendary King of Ghazals, Jagjit Singh ji...,of  a soon to be relesed album and much more..

Japanese Wife did very well....and so did the period film Parineeta...her character so apt...and she beautifully fitted into it...so what does she remember from this one particular film which did wonderfully well...And she takes you to the days when they were shooting for this film and how she formed a great bond with Vidya Balan....

Our Guest,Dr. Abhaya Asthana is a Bell Labs Fellow with Corporate CTO at Alcatel-Lucent. He directs R&D in the areas of computer and communications systems and solutions, multimedia, wireless systems, converged network systems, computer architecture, operating systems, optical networks and VLSI design. He led the design of VLSI systems at INTEL from 1982-1985 and was on the faculty of IIT Kanpur in 1984.
Learning about Hindu Dharma, history and cultural tradition, living it and then passing it on to the next generation is his passion. He has been active in community service at the local and national levels. His main focus has been in promoting educational and spiritual programs and projects that will help Hindus living in North America to remain Hindus, and through their lives contribute to the richness of their adopted land. Organizing Youth Camps, Bal Vihars, Youth Conferences, Dharma Samsads, Hindu Awareness Yaatras, Hindu Mandir Executive Conferences, Hindu Heritage Days, Hindu Seva Day, Hindu Mandir Pandit's Conference, are some examples of what he has been actively doing for the past 25 years.

The conversation with manoj Kumar Sahaab was just wonderful, momentarily it took us back to the days of partition...a very trajic moment in our lives...certainly, and as Manoj Kumar ji relives these moments, you will be able to see and understand the association he has had  and could have with patriotic films...
